Money Sensei
18 to 35 year olds looking for personal finance advice (millennial target market)
I want the website to be an original personal finance blog with ecommerce functionality built in for my books in addition to offering eCourses. I will be selling my book through Amazon and Audible at some point in the future (estimated time is Sept 2018).
For the theme, I want it to be a "sensei" demonstrating knowledge and wisdom in personal finance, kind of like a martial arts sensei but for personal finance. I also want it to be playful and not too serious. My goal is to offer personal finance in easy to understand concepts.
Logo has not been created yet but ideally it would mesh well with the website design. I also would like the blog to be easily updateable when I post new posts, though I know this is more of a coding request than a design request
Home
-Primarily a blog front and center. I want the top blog posts on the front page in addition to the latest posts. I also want a nice big inviting picture to capture people's attention on the front page. Blog should have the ability for people to post comments (not sure if this is a web design or coding request).
Books
-This is where I will sell my books. A good page to look at would be https://tim.blog/tim-ferriss-books/ and https://barefootinvestor.com. The book is still being worked on. Estimated time for completion is September 2018
Dojo
-This is where I will offer eCourses. A good page to look at is http://moneyaftergraduation.thinkific.com. I will be working on the eCourse over the next few months
About
-Good page to look at is https://www.mrmoneymustache.com/about/ and https://www.financialsamurai.com/about/
Contact
-Place for people to contact me. Name, email, subject, and message fields would be good. Good pages are https://youngandthrifty.ca/contact/ and https://www.mrmoneymustache.com/contact/
Forum
-This is only after the contest is complete. I'd like to work one-on-one with the winning designer to work on this
I want to avoid a website that looks like a template
I would like the ability to have google ads on the website and a mailing list signup section on the front page. I would also like a website that does not look templated; originality is what I'm looking for. Lastly, it must work well on mobile devices
